Does anyone know how to change the "spawn_egg_overlay.png" and "spawn_egg.png" in Minecraft Java?live_help

I've tried two methods, but none of them worked (they're probably outdated), if anyone knows how to do this in minecraft 1.16, I appreciate it! =D

Spawn egg base and overlay are independent to each other.
If you meant colors, then you will have to change item model, or use Optifine custom colors feature, documentation for it here: github.com/sp614x/optifine/OptiFineDoc/color.properties

I'm trying to use Custom Colors but it's not working, I'm on the latest version of Optifine 1.16.5 with custom colors on.
