Failed to download file. 1.8.json.

I had to download Minecraft again after reinstalling it and now when I try to get download a version it says: Failed to download file. 1.8.json. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? I would appreciate every and all little help I could get.

Just load up minecraft and try to launch a version, it should now download the needed files
