Help! Minecraft Causes My Computer To Shut Downhelp
Hey guys,
My computer has been running into some issues while playing Minecraft, and I haven't been able to solve them.
My computer will basically shut down randomly when I'm playing, but the computer itself doesn't completely turn off.
My screen will go black, and I will lose the lights on my keyboard and mouse, but the lights inside the computer stay on, and the fans remain spinning.
I don't think it has anything to do with not being able to run the game, because it will often happen when downloading a new version or about 10 seconds after I press play.
I've played around with different versions, and most I can play hours at a time without trouble, but the latest version shuts my computer down before I even get to the main menu.
I've only had this problem with Minecraft, all of my other games including larger games like Grand Theft Auto 5, Fortnite, and Microsoft Flight Simulator have been fine.
I've read some things like installing the latest version of java, checking temperatures inside the computer, and having enough RAM, but everything looks fine.
I attached a picture of my specs, if anybody has ever had this issue or knows what might be causing it any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Check the allocated ram if its less than 8GB or if you use other programs along with minecraft at the same time make the allocated ram 4GB, look up tutorials for changing ram allocation for minecraft
And gtx 1050 is not really good when it comes to 4k so try reducing the graphics or resolution

Okay so I was able to load up minecraft and play for about 20 minutes, so I am going to make a new survival world and see how it goes.
One problem I ran into is that the selected amount of ram won't save after I restart the launcher. I put in 6G and clicked save, then closed out the launcher, came back, and it was back to 2.
Not sure how to solve this.

2gb is the default ram...if you are facing issues you might as well fresh install mc after removing all game files

Thanks for responding!
The only other program I usually have open along with Minecraft is Spotify but I don't think that would make a difference.
The graphics card could be giving me issues but I don't understand why I can run much bigger games and only have problems with Minecraft.
I'm gonna try the ram allocation idea you had and I'll let you know how it goes.

Your graphics card could be breaking or wearing down try getting a different graphics card and replace it see if it works if it does work then I was right if it doesn't work then just put the graphics card back. Often when monitors black out its related to the GPU.

It would be helpful if you have included the logs as well. The log files can be found at "%appdata%/.minecraft/logs". Only post the log file that includes the issue.

I couldn't find any logs with errors, but I noticed some of the logs from last night greeted me with a "This archive is either in unknown format or damaged" error when I tried opening them.
