I've got some chickens acting as rope into a cave going between fences but they keep laying eggs. Any way to disable this or just /kill the eggs?
1.14.4 btw
EDIT:
It's an adventure map so hoppers are out.
EDIT number 2:
I've decided to change to 1.12.2 because the new coding system just all round sucks... why minecraft?

stick this into a repeating command block and hide it some where /kill @e[type=egg]
if you set your gamerule randomtickspeed to 0 then plants wont grow

The kill command would never work. Everything that gets dropped on the ground is of type Item (minecraft:item). Easily shown: just drop something on the ground and then use: /data get entity @e[type=minecraft:item,limit=1] and you'll get the data of that specific item you dropped (assuming there's nothing else on the floor ;)).
If you need a specific kind of item you'd need to use NBT tags to specify the item type.

place hoppers underneath and just make it a farm

Such command does not work for 1.14.4 (and works for 1.12.2).
On 1.12.2, change your tickspeed to 0 - which would prevent chickens from having a spawntime

Thanks, worked a treat after I changed.
