Ok, so I have a really beasty computer, and I can run Minecraft at around 1500fps on some servers.
I usually like to limit it to 200fps so it's not over the top, but thats not my problem.
For some reason, my game will feel really laggy, like I'm running it at around 20-40fps, however, the fps monitor (in game and on Fraps/Dxtory) say it's still at the limited fps rate (120 or 200)
Does this have something to do with my Refresh Rate of my Monitor screwing me over? I bought the PC about 2-3 months ago, and it's ran fine until recently. Help is appreciated!

I can get up to 1k fps, and the F3 meter gives me abouyt a 50fps drop, but thats not hwat i'm on about. I'll try and record it and upload it, and it's not a MC bug, since Fraps and Dxtory show the same fps as the F3 mode.

Because when you go f3 it makes your frame rate go down.... A lot

Only if you have the lag spike-o-meter on.
@OP:
Even on beefy computers you can still get very noticeable fps drops, depending on the areas you're in. I'm not so sure about the F3 screen not showing you the correct information though. That is rather odd. Have you submitted it as a bug? Can you post a quick video of the problem?
