how do i stop my server from overloading?

[16:42:50 WARN]: Can't keep up! Is the server overloaded? Running 17987ms or 359 ticks behind

how do i correct this, and can you give example texts, im kinda new to this server thing, and dont understand basic programming, i appreciate any help i get, just note im slow. most importantly it is set on 1.14.4 newest version, thought that info might help get me help

You need to allocate more dedicated RAM to the bat file or if your hosting you need a upgrade :P

Switch to papermc build 187 (Minecraft 1.14.4) and allocate at least 4gbs of ram to your server via Java arguments.

i think your server doesnt have enough memory allocated to it (dont know how to fix that but google should)

its probably more towards the cpu is having a hard time keeping up, usually happens if you have a lot of plugins or mods doing stuff all at once or world generation, my server does the same and ram is not an issue
