How can we end Skindex.com?

skindex.com was a virus that i got years ago because i very clearly forgot that its suppose to be minecraftskins.com

Virustotal does not provide absolute protection but increases your chances of detecting malware. Download some fresh malware and see by yourself. The "orbit downloader" event is a good reason why you cannot rely only on blacklist solutions like antivirus/virustotal to determine if a file is malicious or not.

Yikes. Just clicking the link leads me to another site with all kinds of yuck.
I think I used skindex as a kid? (Feels not that long ago cause I am a younger adult) I gave my poor gran's PC a virus with it.
Hopefully that either gets fixed or taken down.

Skindex used to be legitimate, but it fell out of favor with PMC. When Minecraft withdrew from the public eye, this only hurt them more from my understanding, which ultimately brought them down for good (It used to be Skindex.net, which is now an available domain to buy). Skindex.com was bought by... something. An ad farm, maybe? I'm not sure. It's definitely unregulated and running hog wild.

You should be able to report the site for viruses/malware, with enough reports the site will eventually be taken down.

What are you guys talking about? The Skindex is my go-to place when I make skins.

We're talking about a phishing site that uses the skindex name in the URL, not the site which now goes by minecraftskins.com
