How to load a map

I'm just joined Planet Minecraft, and I don't understand how it works.
So I downloaded the file for this map I wanted to play, but how do I place this file into minecraft? I am on Java edition

If you are on windows:
- Unzip the world file you downloaded
- Right Click the folder that you just unziped
- Click Copy
- Click on the Start Menu in Windows.
- Type run into the search box, and select the Run program at the top of the results.
- Type %appdata%\.minecraft\saves into the Run program, and press Enter.
- A folder should open
- Right click in this folder and click paste

Thanks for the help, but sadly I am not on windows, I am on Linux. Do you happen to know how it works on there?

It's been so long, I don't even remember. Ah well if not, that's also fine. I am also content playing Minecraft as it is

- Run minecraft
- Click on Options
- Click on Resource Packs
- Click Open Resource Pack Folder
- Go up to the parent folder
- Click on the saves folder
- Put the unzipped downloaded map folder in here
