Hey! This was a pretty awesome contest- I enjoyed working on my entry even though I didn't have time to complete it, and I really enjoyed looking at the brilliant ideas had by other competitors. Does anyone know if there is any plan in place to hold another build contest any time soon?

This is the first project contest april, so really this is just a test to see if we are able to do it. Its a lot of work for the judges, because they have to download each map and play it.

I uploaded my project before noon today but I didn't have time to add pictures or a good description (I uploaded it in the middle of Spanish class ). Tonight (around 7) I updated the project, but now I'm worried the computer thinks I updated the actual download. I can't find my project in the list... does that mean it was disqualified? How can I get it back up?

Fixed. In my script that checks if it's time to switch contest phases, I used a lower case h instead of an upper case H for the current time and the contest end date is stored in military time, so after comparison it converted time left into your nightmare. Makes sense right!?! ahhaahhahaha... sigh.

Just wanted to let people know that my project has been updated for those that are following it. The Projects page is not showing it as updated. It says it was done 21 hours ago when I just updated it about 10 minutes ago. lol. I should have more in the next couple days too.

Did you add an update log? Without an update log, it doesn't show it as updated. That way, someone can fix a typo without it showing up on the front page again. (That may seem nice, but you will get in trouble for updating your project a bunch of times just to keep it on the front page.)

It all depends on what the newest official (i.e., can be obtained via "force update") version is at the time of judging is.

I don't get some popular contest submissions that get to the front page... They have 1 building on the whole ginormously huge island and get >50 diamonds! They just leave the whole island like it is... The building might have been been imported with MCEdit for all I know!

There is no server for this contest. You make the project in Single Player and then get the .schematic or the .zipped up worldsave and post it under the "projects" section, making sure to check the "for contest" checkbox. (You're supposed to read the rules before you ask questions. Most people would have just told you to read the rules, and some would report your question as spam. Just be careful next time, and read the rules .

Will the project be downloaded and judged or will it be judged based on the screenshots or videos of the project?

downloaded and walked through by the judges. the judging process is going to take a lot longer than the skins judging, just a heads up.

I think the Wayukian pack should be the default for all contestants. It's an amazing pack, you should look it up.
