So I want to buy minecraft (xbox) as a gift for my grandson, but only if he can use his existing worlds from Pocket (ios). I read a bunch of FAQs but I'm still not clear on if/how this would work.
If it's thru realms, can you just do the free trial and then download the world to xbox? Would it stay on the xbox even if he cancels his realms account? I'm not interested in ongoing subscriptions.
Also, if his friends are still playing on pocket edition, would they be able to play with him on xbox (over same wifi?) WITHOUT paying multiplayer fees? Or is that why the realms exist - to join different platforms.
New to this, probably some dumb questions here. Don't make fun of me.
thanks

Yes, I'm a teenager posing as a confused grandparent with last-minute Christmas questions. (Actually, I'm not.) Just trying to figure out if he could use his old ipad worlds on a new xbox game. Anyone?

not trying to be rude but i find it a little weird you say you bought minecraft for your grandson but you speak like a teenager using words like "thru"
