Simple answer: When mobile devices offer an option that allows for easy jumping, mostly glitch-free and mis-tap proof, that combines with the current controls for PE.

Simple. i n Minecraft pocket edition when you walk into a 1-block high wall you automatically jump. Also, it should never be removed, unless the jump button is moved to the right side of the screen.
