Survival Revamped [I need suggestions]emoji_objects
I'm making a data pack called Survival Revamped, and I need ideas. The data pack aims to change the gameplay mechanics to be more realistic. Current aims are making survival more difficult, encouraging creation of temporary camps at night.
What features would you like to see in this data pack? Comment below!

...nay.
1
realism and you would have to find a village lol
2
diseases!

Already suggested and planned!
1
Coronavirus, flu and also paralyze could be interesting(slowness for about 2 mins)
2
Can't wait to get ligma. (Yeah, I know this is 100% uneffective but just one last push wouldn't hurt.)
3
ah, yes.
2
Make eating raw food really bad for you, so you always have to cook your food.
3
Raw food is actually already near-useless due to the fullness mechanics (being extremely lazy, I didn't add fullness values for less-eaten foods including raw meat). Since you have permanent Hunger V on you, raw food is more useless than it was, and it doesn't help you heal, it can only keep you sprinting for a while or keep you from starving to death.
2
Permanent hunger V, good lord.
3
It's to balance the fullness mechanic (which makes you unable to get too hungry depending on how full you are) and the lack of natural regeneration to drain your hunger.
2
The more items you carry the slower you are and the less items you carry the faster you are on the ground.
Shulker boxes can be used to bypass this, or the future bundle in 1.18.

...nah. I don't want to end up walking around at the speed of an injured slug.

XDXD

Guns cuz why the fuck not
1
no its survival revamped not a warfare and also don't use language just to use it pls
3
no.
1
How about wearing a helmet to breath in the end
3
....nah

maybe stuff like
when you hit cows they have a chance to ram towards you
make knives (which is what almost all of survival packs have) that can be good for cutting leaves, pretty much shears. (but since its for making stuff harder you should scrap this out)
make tents- pretty weird, scrap this out its just a furniture mod then
make it so that if you hit too much when un-needed, you might hurt yourself (ok is this too advanced?)
maybe when raining you might freeze to death if in an open space, so if you go near fire or something you can warm up
now i dunno lots about datapacks so sorry if some things are too advanced or too common

- Maybe if I get bored and run out of features.
- Requires a resource pack to accompany it, which I'm trying to avoid, so not high on the bucket list.
- Nay no furniture.
- ...nah.
- Planned in temperature mechanics :)
3
same for sheep and goats for the 1st one imo. Theres like countless videos online of rams/goats ramming people

XD

(unreleased)
Added vomiting (happens every 15 seconds if you're extremely super over full)
Makes sound and particle effects, reduces fullness, and gives nearby entities nausea.
Also you get nausea when you're too overstuffed

Btw, there's a forgotten healing item that will suddenly be useful with this data pack - suspicious stew. Oxeye Daisy suspicious stew gives regeneration, and is probably the best mid-game healing item with the data pack (since golden apples are expensive)

I've always wanted to add this realistic concept where if you get sleep deprived, your body would weaken; IRL you can more easily get illnesses because of your weakened immune system, and your stress hormone and blood pressure increases, and your temperature would drop, and these can lead to chronic diseases, like diabetes or heart attacks
so basically maybe a system in which each day of skipping sleep will make you weaker and weaker and you'll eventually die of exhaustion, and to be relieved of the tiredness you have to continue sleeping again, and you regain some stamina each day you sleep

Added sleep deprivation in developing version (not released yet)
1 day without sleep gives slowness 1
2 days gives weakness
3 days gives slowness 2
4 days gives blindness
5 days deals 1 damage every 15 seconds (which is also the max regeneration rate by fullness)
This was actually ridiculously easy to make. I just made a score that checks how long it's been since you slept, and if that score is high enough it gives you effects.

Oooh, sleep deprivation is a good idea! (Arguably better than phantoms for the theme of my data pack-)
I probably won't make you die from sleep deprivation, but severe weakening will be added.

can you make rotten food and a fridge to store food
3
Not feasible to add sorry.

-add thirst it wold be great
-make campfire stop when raining(don't stop when it has a block above)
-add fishing net
-make furnace has to upgrade to smoker to cook food and to blast furnace to smelt ore
-make campfire temperary then it wentout

- Yup!
- Probably not, would promote placing ugly dirt blocks on campfires which would look horrible.
- Probably not for now, maybe later.
- Good idea! Might make normal furnaces give vastly reduced amount of ore produce.
- Yes! This is a good idea!
2
add camp sites and maybe hunters?
3
Hm....
Campfires are going to function as camp sites.
Hunters... I might make illager hunts.

ok nice

oooo you can add matbe like different types of villages fro example research villages have more libraries and librariansor forger villages more weaponsmith armoursmith and blacksmith villagers and more blacksmith houses and stuff like that
2
u can put your pvp revamped pack cause that makes it more realistic like add daggers ext and also you can add maybe more armour? like ´lapis armour ems armour and you can add more mobs example villager guards zombies spawn more and you can add a zombie that is infected and if it hits you you get slowness and weakness?
4
- That will be remaining a separate data pack.
- More armour models are not possible without optifine.
- Villager guards... probably not.
- Zombies are going to spawn less.
- Hm...

just happy to help =) ........ if im even helping

1.17's new freezing effect seems to have a lot of possibilites. Of course, you probably can't just apply it, but it would be neat to add slowness or something when you're standing on snow, or if it's snowing.
More difficult and progression-based ore smelting also seems like a good idea... maybe you need two or three ore for one ingot, or alternatively, each tool/piece of gear has to be crafted with a block instead of an ingot.
If we're talking about the Nether or the End, maybe you could apply some sort of "fear factor" which increases in the presence of dangerous mobs or structures. Perhaps it could add a red overlay and make you slower, but also give you strength... like a sort of adrenaline rush.

Yeah, I've been sad that we can't just apply it since it came out.
Tool crafting with a block is very very ridiculous. That would mean you use over 23 tonnes of iron to make a single pickaxe.
Fear factor seems interesting... I've been dabbling in those arts in Rings of Power (Nazgul be scari) but idk how I would implement it here..
also idt i can add a red overlay :<

Sorry to hear about the snow, but I still think it would be possible to work something out.
I understand about the tools. It was really just a basic concept that would increase the difficulty... doesn't really make sense for realism, though. You're right about that.
I'm pretty sure you can add a red overlay, though I've been wrong before...
One thing I'd really like to see would be increased ore concentration required for smelting- like three ore for one ingot- which is definitely realistic.

I like the idea of diseases. Maybe a zombie hits you and you have a 2% chance to get a disease. If you get it, effects throughout the days will get worse, and worse, and worse untill you cure it somehow (probably a golden apple) or eventually die off by the wither effect.
4
Hm... this is an interesting way of doing it. Might do this!
Note that if added, diseases will be quite mild, and even the ones that can be fatal will be extremely slow (because even Wither I probably deals damage a lot faster than you can heal with food due to the tweaks)
Curing will not be done using golden apples though. I will probably make curing happen by more easily accessible means. Most diseases will have a chance of spontaneously getting cured. Eating stews will also increase this chance. Diseases will have a chance to get worse if you aren't full enough. Also, vegetables will be good for curing diseases. Eat your veggies, kids.
Some diseases will need a cure to be healed, but these diseases will be extremely slow and will take a long time to kill you. IDK what the cures will be for these.
