Idk know if this is possible, but they need to make downloading mods easier for people who don't know how. When I learned It took me a long time to do, was confusing, and almost installed a virus on my computer. Steam games are so easy to get mods for because of the workshop. It would be cool if it was as easy as that.

In addition to awesomely2002's argument, they already *HAVE* made "mods" easier to download in 1.13. And by mods I mean commandblock mods like The Tempest's Box. These can't quite do everything, but they can add (a few) new blocks, new mobs, new structures, new items, and even a new dimension (but only one per world, generated above the nether ceiling).

That will make them start trying to monetize Java. The current way is as good as it will ever get.

I guess so, the might create a workshop type program like steam's and make some mod sites shut down.

It is possible if they made an officially supported modding API, but then they'd need to make sure nothing breaks with it for every update (increasing the workload for each update). And they'd need to fix that by hiring more employees (increasing production costs) or by lowering the rate of when they release updates (which they don't want to do, as they want to release two updates a year.

It's going to take a while for the 1.14 update to come out, but you could always send your ideas to Mojang themselves considering that they don't take ideas from PlanetMinecraft :p

But you're right. A nether update would be cool ;D

The next update will be 1.13.x.

Minecraft 1.13 is one of the largest updates ever put out. There's only been a couple that are in the same league as what just happened. Because of this, there are a LOT of bugs. Minecraft will stay in the 1.13 phase for quite awhile.

The snapshot released was a snapshot for 1.13.1, which had more bug-fixes than anything.

But I do agree, the Nether could use some work. Finally expand the generated ceiling to y=256. More structures would be cool and a bit more work on the ambiance of the nether would be cool too.

I mean we have three different worlds, the overworld, the nether, and the end. Only one of those worlds has only ONE generate-able structure. The overworld has villages, strongholds, desert and sea temples, ruins, ship wrecks, etc. The end, while a bit more sparse, has the main part (with the dragon and the towers and the portal), end cities and end ships. The nether has strongholds, which are just boring tunnels with spawners every now and then and a red plant. How exciting.

The next update will be 1.13.1, we already know this (Since it's already in the works). But this is a discussion regarding the next major update (1.14), not the minor updates (For example: 1.13.1-x are minor updates).

Yes I know but 1.14 is gonna be a long ways away, as there's a lot of fixing to be done now.

They said they're doing to try to do two every year, so it should be out by the end of the year.
