Can't fly..what am i missing

so i'm noob, just got started. Win 10 app of minecraft all basic settings in peaceful / survival mode. I double tap space and get no flight. considering a some kind of keyboard issue i swapped my USB wireless for a straight USB and still same issue. This is a local game and my pc has far too many resources for this itself. idea's ? what can i be missing?

It is pure minecraft logic that you can't fly in survival.
If you think about it, if you could fly in survival it would be a bit too op

So can't fly in survival? I guess i'd have to switch back n forth in my world.... again i'm just basic learning no bad guys and no other players.

you have to be in creative, use this command
/gamemode c
or this one
/gamemode creative
make sure you have cheats enabled
/gamemode c

You have to be in creative. Don't know what the Bedrock Edition command is, though.
