Got this out of an AFK fish farm, Looking around for exactly how the curse of vanishing works. It disappears when the player is killed, But is that only if in the player inventory at the time? Will this thing stay around if it's stored in a chest somewhere else?

Any binding-like effects/problems un-equipping at all? I haven't seen anything saying so, But I can't find much at all beyond the wiki entry, which is kind of short. If this can be stashed in a chest when I'm not using it and it will stay put I think I might have the last fishing rod I'll ever need.
