Hello,
I've seen some Minecraft maps that used a perfect fade to black transition. I was wondering, how can it be done?
I know about the blindness effect, but it doesn't result in a fully black screen, I also know about the blindness+night vision mix, which gives a black screen, however it appears instantly when the effects are applied. How do I make it smoothly fade in?
Thanks.

Can you give an example of this?

For example, here at 1:19, the screen fades to black and then fades out of black.

its all custom images placed over the head using atleast or up to 7 different shades leading into black.
once you click you set it up to hook to that specific thing and then add the blocks of commands for each shade of the custom image. you can have lots of different custom images inside your resourcepack folder. hence why your able to make that. or basically make anything i made a old piece of paper with overlays ontop making it look like a boat was coming into the land had a uncharted type feel. theres alot that goes into it hope this helps you out :)

could throw them in the texturepack location like follows assets-minecraft-textures-then you could make a new folder with that specific thing. i usually type in like addon. then once your all set you set up that blockstate to that specific area then bam your golden

So after i set up the blockstate i need to put it on my head to see the image?
