Recently Ive been thinking of ideas on how a server could function around dungeon exploration. What i mean is, having every player economically or strategically effected by the dungeons existing in the world.
Let me define this a bit more.
Dungeons would be locations on the map that contain loot and some forms of danger(traps mobs etc)
strong>Loot could be items like enchantments and needed custom items(Teleportation crystals etc)
Also for balancing reasons and to lock off some content to make it loot based, I would recommend adjusting/removing ores. Ide remove diamonds, this woulds lock off enchantments making them only find able in dungeons.
I have 0 skill when it comes to making servers but i kinda feel like brain storming on this idea.If you have any ideas on this concept comment below

Do you want the dungeons to randomly generate like in regular Minecraft? Because that's a pain in the ass to make even when you're an experienced Bukkit Developer.

Nope, My plan would be to have a team of dungeon builders and every so often they would release a new dungeon on the map for players to raid. We could use a refilling loot chest plugin and grief protection to make the dungeons permanent sources of loot.

That is a way better idea. From experience still hard if you want to frequently push out new dungeons. Unless you got a decent buildteam that is.

It is a good idea. But I recommend removing lapiz lazul instead of diamonds. Or even blocking off non-custom crafting recipes (in 1.13, of course).

my big thing is balancing and diamonds have such a base line higher stat then iron its abit insane. Also diamond isn't very visually appealing and if this server had a theme like medieval fantasy it would ruin the immersion slightly idk.

the idea is good, but you will require an experienced person for this one. also if you are aiming for a good amount of players in the server with this idea - you will need really good advertising, not just few forum posts.

Oh yeah i understand this, Im not even talknig about starting a server at this point. Ive been a mod/admin on a few medium sized towny servers and I understand how to increase a servers population threw advertising. Im just curious what people think of this general idea of a server
