Enough is enough, ever since he took over, Minecraft has become more and more confusing for the average player, it seems like they are not even testing what they are doing. There where 3 patches to the game in one day

How DARE game developers add content to a game you paid for and give it to you free!?
How DARE they do this with NO OUTSIDE HELP! HOW DARE they add optional content instead of content you are forced to play. How DARE they allow you to get more creative in your builds with new blocks... Jerks

You guys should be nicer to jeb, I mean come on, minecraft is a huge game which has a massive number of players. He can't cater to everyone's desires. So deal with it. He adds what he adds and so you should just go along for the ride.

Jeb adds too much random crap and doesnt even focus on the things that need improvement like terrain generation, AI, and performance

I like more stuff (like new redstone items)but Jeb has taken it way too far. Its so complex that I'm getting lost and i've played minecraft for about 2 years. Jeb is good at this, but it's going too far. Add new mobs or something next.

The problem with what they are doing is not so much what they are adding. For me the problem is what they are doing regarding the code.
Each new update brings drastic new changes to the base code. The Jump from 1.2.5 to 1.3 was big enough that it caused alot of developers to not be able to update their mods because what they used Mojang removed.
The jump to 1.4.2 is going to be even more drastic and developers arent going to be able to update really big mods. Best case scenario for mods until the API is released (if it ever releases) is to rewrite your mods.
I think what they are adding in terms of content is only half the problem. The major problem comes in what they are doing to the code.

I personally never saw a problem with what they have been adding. Whenever I see that they add something that does not appeal or interest me I can just not use it as though it never existed. There is some things like new mobs such as bats that may be impossible to ignore but they can be dealt with. Regardless of how much or little they add there will always be someone who likes or dislikes the change or addition. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but just because you hate what is added, removed or changed does not mean that everyone does and therefore no action really can be applied to the game until there is a vast amount of players that want the change.

I don't think it's that the Mojang team is adding too many things- I think it's just that the new updates feature more.... Drastic changes.
For example, look at beta 1.8 . Gigantic shift from 1.7.3. Same with 1.0.0 .
I don't like the new features at all, personally. I'm a long time player of the game, and while I appreciate the fact that they are trying to branch out to new players, I just don't like it.

I do believe that Mojang is making minecraft into "Generic Dungeons and Dragons Game #12422"
I believe that Dinnerbone should be working on the Modding API like he was hired to do, not be developing the entire game.
As a player of minecraft since infdev and indev as well as a player of the game minecraft originated from, Infiniminer I do not like the direction Mojang has taken the game and I believe that all the things that once made Minecraft so appealing to us long time players originally is gone.

I get that I'm new to this forums. But I just had to sign up for this specific thread. I completely disagree with everything you just said. First of all basic game mechanics are still there. The way the game starts has practically never changed. And you don't have to "play with magic" in the game if you don't want. If new structures are a annoying to you then tear them down or yah know; play a earlier version of the dam game. And it's not how you say becoming another DnD game. It's not an RPG (and a lil bit of magic or new mobs won't change that), I doubt they will ever add skills, and on top of that Minecraft will always retain it's creative feel. No matter how many times you beat the game on any version or update you will always be able to beat a tree with your bear fists to get wood and collect and build what ever you want after. Minecraft will always be Minecraft people like you are the ones distorting it and trying to avoid change. And this isn't just geared towards you it's towards everyone opposed towards the direction Minecraft is going. Get over it. The major populous of the people who play this game love these updates so join the group or be a hipster with your outdated versions either way just enjoy the game.

If a younger audience is such a pain just ignore them and play on a server that has protections so they do not touch your stuff, it isn't like minecraft is rated M, It is rated E for everyone so stop hating Amuffinajab,

I agree, Mojang is taking the game waaay too far. They should stop adding random stuff to the game sometime soon.

Words of wisdom with bad grammar Jed hasn't added enough in my mind, I was a more realistic feeling to minecraft able to do almost anything. Mainly I want magic in minecraft like spells and stuff potions are not enough xD
