Minecraft - Volume Final (placeholder name) is an upcoming and untitled major C418 release. C418 said that the album will be longer than Volume Alpha and Beta combined, which is 3 hours, 19 minutes and 40 seconds.

But what would the music in this album sound like? What would the album cover look like?

There are four known songs in this album, three from Minecraft Update Aquatic and a 15-minute bonus track.

Three songs in the upcoming album are already named. They are called "Shuniji", "Axolotl" and "Dragon Fish". And if you look at their album cover more closely, you'll probably notice that they look very similar and related. My theory is that the cover for the three songs are just cropped version of what would be the album cover of the third album.

C418 said that he might put a bonus 15-minute track. He said "I’m interested in seeing how people use music as sleep aid, so I think on the next album I might put a bonus track on there that’s just 15 minutes of complete ambience and see what people think."

But what are the other tracks? Surely there's more considering that C418 said that the third album would be over 3 hours long, right?

I'm sure that C418 already "released" some of the songs in some form. And I found four songs that I believe will be part of the third album. These are the "battlemode" tracks from Legacy Console Editions. If you search up "Minecraft: Battle and Tumble", you'll see all the songs that are used in the battle and tumble mini games, except for the songs in the default battle map. If you listen to these four tracks, they don't really sound like the music style of Gareth Coker. And if you listen more closely, at 5:18 of Battlemode 2, you'll hear what sounds like Alpha from the previous album.

C418 also semi-confirmed (?) that he made these four tracks on a January 2021 interview. He said "The reason why Gareth wrote the music is because the company in charge of Minecraft at the time which wasn't Mojang, it was a different company, they wanted to make two different DLC and they wanted to like have a full soundtrack for each, and I am an enemy of crunch like crunch I think is the worst thing that has in this games industry so I wrote the soundtrack for one DLC but I refused to write anything else with the other and then they hired Gareth"

Alright, that's 8 songs discovered, but there could be more right?

Probably yes! There's a mash-up pack in Legacy Console Editions and Bedrock Edition called "Halloween Mash-up". This mash-up pack contains 7 songs from an unknown composer. 4J Studios actually confirmed that these songs are made by C418, and I believe these songs are also part of the third volume

Phew, 7 more songs discovered, meaning we already found 15 songs that could potentially be part of the third volume.

But there could be more, in fact, 3 more songs! In the Festive Mash-up, there are 3 festive remixes of the Volume Beta songs (Warmth, Ballad of the Cats, and The End). I believe these songs were also made by C418 because 4J didn't really use any composers besides C418 and Gareth Coker, and Gareth Coker already released all of his Minecraft Console Edition music in albums.

I don't think these three songs would be part of the third album though, simply because they sound veryy similar to the Volume Beta songs.

But there's more, from Java and Bedrock Edition! These are "11" and "boss", which are yet to appear in albums. "11" was added in Minecraft 1.0.0, while boss was added in the Java Edition music update (released silently after Minecraft - Volume Beta). When Volume Beta came, these two songs were skipped. "11" was replaced by "Eleven", a song with the same length but is completely different. Boss aren't replaced by a song though, the only song in Volume Beta where we can hear slight bit of Boss is "The End".

This two songs are very likely to be part of the third volume. We know that they are made by C418, and all other songs by C418 that are used in Java and Bedrock Editions were already released in albums and singles, except this two.

Before you listen to any of the songs that I've talked about, take note all of them (excluding Shuniji, Axolotl, Dragon Fish, Boss and 11), are in very low quality. There are several restoration attempts on these songs, but still...

That's all the songs I could find. If you found other songs in Minecraft that you believe were made by C418, please let me know.

guys, i think i found four more songs...

basically, when minecraft was still new, C418 release 2 previews of upcoming music. the first preview showcased minecraft, stal, blocks, mall, cat, far and two other songs that weren't released. the second preview showcased living mice, haggstrom, subwoofer lullaby, biome fest, flake, kyoto, and a song that wasn't released.

the fourth one is from C418's 2017 memorial mixtape. this is a collection of songs that C418 probably loved listening to. the mixtape concluded with an unknown song that is very reminiscent of the update aquatic songs. C418 made a playlist on Spotify containing the songs that are in the mixtape, and the ending song wasn't there. and fun fact: the mixtape was released in 2017, the same year the volume final was originally planned for release

we do not know if C418 actually made the final song in the mixtape, but judging by how it sounds, i'm sure that C418 is the one that made the song.

the link to the 2017 memorial mixtape is here: soundcloud.com/c418/2017-memorial-mixtape?ref=clipboard&p=a&c=0&si=3d0137555a1f4dce8020184e16d62d0d&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing

Do you think the third album would be released some time in the future?

Remember, Mojang probably have a copy of the third album...
