Lots of zombies, but no spawner?
So, I found this today:
And believe it or not, but a spawner doesn't seem to be the cause of this. I checked further in the cave, but I can't hear any zombie noises, and there is no opening to a dungeon or anything; and they seemed to be coming out of the dark at random. This was during the day, too. Weird, but cool, gave me 7 levels of XP

Zombies: You have disturbed our breakfast! You must DIE!

Yes exactly, there was a chicken down there in the cave and that's why they were holding eggs and not despawning, and then of course now they multiply; which I like, lol. Thanks for the replies everyone.

As of 1.6, zombies multiply when the player isn't looking at them. If you aren't careful, not taking care of your zombies can result in being severely overrun.

The zombies spawned naturally. Normally they wouldd despawn, but the fact that they picked up items (like the eggs a chhicken dropped) means they can never despawn.
