Make the lives of minecraft server owners easier! (automatic portforwarding)
Hi i made a project called automatic port forwarding it can work in 2 ways it can either work as a standalone java GUI app or as a bukkit plugin
that automatically starts port forwarding when you start the server and stops port forwarding when you stop. (pretty simple eyy)
it can be found at
https://github.com/forthesafeofnealandfuller/autofastforward-alpha-/releases/tag/0.2.1b
Instructions
choose which version to download
if you want the GUI version:
Download
and open the file
specify the port
click open port
Once your done
make sure the box says the same port you opened
Click close port
If you want the bukkit version
Download
move the file to your plugins folder
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The bukkit version will automatically find the port and open the port when you start the server
and close the port when you stop the server.
Comment any suggestions
Right now i am working on ver.b 3. It will have a inbuilt editor for the .apf files made by ver.beta 2.

Interesting. Might be useful to add a README file for people who want to build their own version, but I'll check it out myself!

Will do but i am currently at school Also i should mention one of my dependencies is not hosted on the spigot servers anymore, i might add a download link on my github. thnx for the suggestion

Probably worthy to note that it won't change router configuration. My router/modem needed port forwarding there as well. Unless there's a way to remotely do that without password that I'm not aware of.
2
no it changes router config if your router supports upnp
If it supports upnp it will talk to the router and ask to forward port
upnp is passwordless but most routers support it.
Upnp is meant for games anyways
if it doesn't support upnp it will just do nothing, no harm

Probably the easiest to use server auto port-forwarding method I've ever used! Your doing the world a service my friend.
