Hey PMC.
I wanted to make a post, and here it is: Minecon 2014 should be in Australia!
And before you say "Australia has barely any gamers!!1!" or "No-one plays MC in Australia!", then think again. This is not just for Australia;
Let me explain the pros of having Minecon in Australia:
1. Australia could be host to MC's massive Oceanic fanbase. It is within easy access of much of Asia too.
2. Show us your love Mojang! Aussie gamers always get the hard shoulder when it comes to gaming. Bad connections due to US and EU hosting, being the non-preferred country when it comes to English speaking gaming, among other things, is very annoying when you look at the statistics: Australia is a vast nation with a very small population to fill it, but the stereotypical Australian is actually a very rare specimen. A large percentage of us are gamers, and we want Minecon here this year.
3. Sydney. One of the best cities in the world, a beautiful paradise, with a population of 7 million people. I actually live in Tasmania, but unlike people in all the other threads, I'm not going to request the nearest city to me; just the best one Australia can offer. Instead of saying "Oh because I live in Arizona it should be in Scottsdale because I live 10 minutes from it" or in my case "I want it to be in Launceston" I am wiliing, like many others in this country of ours, to buy tickets, book a hotel and stay for a few nights. And because Australia is one of the most sought after tourist destinations, Minecon could be that little bit of extra incentive to actually travel here.

My cousins moved to Australia a few years ago. They love Minecraft too! It would be great if I could recommend them to go there, they live in Sydney too!

I'm from Australia. We don't all live in the outback riding kangaroos, and u hardly ever hear someone say G'day. We deserve to have a large gaming convention like this in Australia.

I would say it have to be somewhere in Europe because its in the center of the globe , so everyone can come, but Australia is just too damn far from everything.

I live in Australia love minecraft just wished I could go to minecon but I can't because it's always so far away! I like sydney but even though I live in ACT and sydney is close I would say brisbane just because brisbane is such a good looking city. And with those beaches on the gold coast...

2. The supportive fan base and very convenient location in the world makes it a big hitter. Also, We have more entertainment venues in Australia than the whole of Oceania and Southern Asia combined!
3. How can you miss it? It is right there! It is cheap and nice, easy to get to from anywhere and have extremely low crime and extremely high gaming population.
Personally, I want the event held at either the Adelaide Showgrounds or the Adelaide Entertainment Centre (the latter if the former is filled up!) This is because Adelaide is the best city in the country and the best city with less than 2 million people in the world!
If you are from another state or city, sorry but it is critically and statistically proven!

Okay, just to clarify, Oceania isn't the continent. Oceania is the region in which Australia, New Zealand, Micronesia, Polynesia etc. are located. The continent itself is generally just referred to as Australia, but can be called Australasia. But that's not the point.

I really would be okay if Minecon 2014 was in Australia, doesn't matter for me because I'm never going ;D I don't have that kind of money. If I did, I'd have like 3 capes to choose from! So I have to say:

Minecon has been in the United States twice and once in Europe. There is a bigger chance that Minecon 2014 will be in Europe. But you have to wait to find out the location in about July to September 2014 to find out what place they chose

I say no! Why? Well, most of MC's gamers are in america. Most of the players of the game are children which have no jobs. How can they get money to get to Australia? They don't. I am going to minecon 2014 if it is in the tri-state area
