Modders beware D:
Ok, idk if this is true or not, but apparently 1.2.5 comes out next week.
Pros: its an update. Updates include new stuff
Cons: modloader will have to be updated AGAIN.
all the other mods will also have to be updated.
so yeah, like i said, it might not be true, but ya never know
(Also check out this new castle i made with world edit DDD)

MCP 1.2.5 and Bukkit are already out so we don't have to worry

And there was much rejoicing.

I say fix any current bugs, then stop updating until the API is released.
That would make me fantastically happy.

I would be happy If they add new mobs in 1.2.5 and put optifine mod in it

I still haven't updated my mods to 1.2.4

The new update dosent look to good, just minor bug fixes. However the rumor is that the Modding API will be added when the update comes out next week

Fantastically hot.
Not a chance. The modding API will take a long time. We would be very lucky to get it in 1.3, more likely to be in 1.4

Well, yes rageface, but the main reason they are releasing it is because it fixes a major issue with crashing in world generation, which is too important to leave out until the next major update.

1.2.5 Comes out on Wednesday. The pre-release is already out.
Mostly small changes and fixes, but you can now shift-click furnaces which is cool.

I actually like the quick updates. It shows that they're being responsive to bug fixes, which is nice. Also, I get the feeling that they're putting the framework in for some large changes/additions, which is easier to get used to if implemented bit by bit as opposed to one huge update. Also it gives them a chance to test for any bugs (think about how many bugs there'd be if there were no snapshots and 1.2 was just released all at once...and how long it'd take them to fix them all). That being said, I can see how it'd be difficult for modders. It seems as though it's easier just to wait until the large updates are released if you play MC mod-heavy.

I agree i like the frequent updates. For each update the better the game gets
keep up the good work mojang!

I understand it's a lot of stress onto the modders and texture packers. So I do support the fact that they need to space it out a little better.

They really need to spread updates out further. I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say that we're willing to wait for stuff.
It seems to me like Mojang is adding mods to the game but because they are Mojang, they're forced upon us all, much to the dismay of just about everyone.
The best solution would be to simply wait a few months between updates, because, really, I've never heard of a game that updates this frequently. Another would be to figure out how to not screw up all of our hard work every time they add even the silliest, most pointless features.
Mojang... just... sigh... QQ

I agree its like i have bad to update all my mods and texture packs like every 2 weeks because they wont just keep the updates farther apart
1
why do they keep updating so fast?
1
Because Mojang feels bad about not updating because they were working on the Xbox version so intently. Also because Bukkit joined forces with Mojang, so they're straightening out minecraft (Not that it's gay xD) and fixing bugs. And finally, nobody will be happy if there's an update that adds NOTHING, would we be happy? Nope. Nobody would. That's why.
