Modding API open Standard between Minecraft and Minetest

Ok I'll admit it, I play both Minecraft and Minetest. They both have their strengths and weaknesses. Minecraft is just a much more polished game has a much larger community and I could go on and on. But I still play Minetest a lot because it has a Modding API, and it is so easy to create my own Mods, and there is zero pain in installing several dozen mods with Minetest. I installed a few Mods for Minecraft and it was a pain. Then a new release of Minecraft came out and they all broke, and I didn't want to go through the grief of reinstalling them. Here's my crazy dream. Microsoft wants to show the world how cool it really is, and it decides to collaborate with the Minetest development team on an Open Standard for a modding API. Heck maybe even some of the other clones get on board, Blockscape, Terasology, Mythruna, who knows. But I would love to be able to use my Minetest Mods in Minecraft and vice versa. I know this is nuts, but I can dream, can't I?

I think that's great, actually.
Example:
Mojang: "we want 2 add money ore which u use as dekorashun"
Microsoft: "No, work on Modding API"
Mojang: "we want 2 add bird becuz y not"
Microsoft: "No, work on Modding API"
We don't know that for sure. The deal hasn't closed yet. We weren't told the specifics of the deal.
I think it was a joke but I'm not sure.

They might just send some coders to Mojang to make up for the people that left.

Hoping Microsoft gets the mod api done like Notch couldn't.
