Need Advice/Help with Modern City

Hey everyone.
So I began building a modern, slightly futuristic city last night. The only thing I've managed to get done so far is one of the roads, due to me constantly deleting stuff I don't like.

I've tried to do a modern apartment building, but I keep on messing it up and making something that looks boring. I've tried to incorporate tilted buildings as well as arches, but they still all look terrible. Any ideas as to what I should do?

well first things first use google and find some buildings that have a similar idea to what you want use them as references. also start small, its much harder to build at a large scale.
another way around would be getting some squared paper and plan the builds on them before each square equals a block and that was you don't have to remove something you haven't built.
