I was wondering if there's a type of name for a server you would call that only stays on one version but never updates on purpose but still tries to make the server fun, kind of something like that. I came up with this question because I heard Tekkit hasn't updated ever since 1.2.5 (Some where in there) and that means the server have never updated since then. I was wondering if vanilla/bukkit etc. servers do that?

Yeah I was mainly just wondering if it would be ok to create a catergory for it but it seems that it's completly pointless .

Just set the version. It is a tag that anybody can search by. There is no word for these servers, no.

I was just wondering because the server might now want to update and not want to use anything from the future version and try to make it still really fun with a whole bunch of game or anything something like that, I can't really explain it but I hope you know what I mean.

I know what you mean. People that want to list those servers just select their server version when posting their server and list in their description that they won't be changing versions.

A category in the server list for servers that aren't going to update versions...? I don't see why you wouldn't just use the existing version listing in the server section to filter servers by version or list a server according to the version it is. I don't think we need a whole category just for "this server isn't going to update".

If there's a name for servers that only stay on one version, I've never heard it. Seems like a lot of folks play on Beta 1.7.3 servers though since a fair amount of folks didn't care for the adventure update. Not really a matter of a name to describe the server type as much as just listing the server as what version it is and stating it won't update.
