Greetings lads and lasses. If you're reading this you either are interested in a SMP community server or just clicked here for no good reason. Anyways, let me tell you something real slick. I have an idea which may or may not be pretty interesting (depending on who you are).

[General idea of what it is]: What I have in the works is a community survival server. You see, after Mojang updated its policies regarding how a server can monetize itself; a big problem arose for mega-servers such as Mineplex (and the likes of it)... funding. Something oh-so critical to the development and upkeep of a server! Funding! Many servers began losing out on cash as they couldn't sell out many items anymore, which in turn crippled their income. After some peeking around, it seems some boys and girls have the idea that these players are now dispersed and looking for new servers. Well, what's been around since the beginning of time? Indie servers! Specifically survival ones. Now what I've thought up was a server I've been wanting to make for YEARS. A survival, faction, towny, chat server. Let me explain... Players would predominantly be survival. All players would join one big server which they can thrive in. It'll be the classic Minecraft experience, however it'll become a living world of its own. For the server will be geared towards working together. Surviving together! Players have the choice to live on alone, while players who enjoy teamwork have the ability to work together, and build towns, which will one day grow into cities! Player towns and cities can always choose to engage in battle for the worlds currency... credits. Which can be earned through various activities. Below I will write a section for each of the aspects the server will be made up of.

[Credits]: This will be a digital currency, only earn-able in game. Players can choose a job, to help OTHER players, in exchange for Credits. Lets say you enjoy farming, you can farm up your crops. Bring them to either other players or the hub-world and trade extra crops in for Credits. If you enjoy mining and have extra cobble, or ore? Bring them to other players, or the hub-world and trade them in for Credits! Credits themselves can be used to purchase in-game items from other players, properties, or insurance. Below explains each of these.

[Trading]: Players will have the option to trade items in-game. These items range from literally ANYTHING you can pick up. You can do the vanilla trade of maybe a block for a block, or you can do Credit trading. Such as a player giving you a diamond in exchange for 200 Credits.

[Properties]: Players will have the option to live alone, or with friends! Though you can build anywhere, you can also purchase properties. These can be either premade homes, the ruins of a temple (hand made) or even moving into someone elses city or town!

[Insurance (which is optional)]: A central part of the game will be building and chatting. Though everyone knows griefers and warfare can get in the way of that. Players have the option to purchase insurance for their property. Insurance is pretty simple to use. You are charged Credits based on how big the property is, a small enclosed bedrock space will be added to your property, with a chest inside explaining the dimensions of your property. Should you be griefed, or should property be destroyed. Your insurance allows a mod or admin to come to you in creative, and rebuild what was destroyed. You are ONLY charged for insurance if the property was attacked unwillfully. If the player is found to have hired someone to commit insurance fraud there will be no refund in materials. Insured land will ALSO be moved each season. Below is an explanation of a season.

[Bounty]: Players who grief or damage other peoples property will be subject to bounties. It's quite easy these days to figure out who did what in a Minecraft server so if a person has been found destroying your home you may place a bounty on their head for an amount of credits (or additional things). Said player will appear to EVERYONE on the server who types /bounty and should a player find them and kill them, the reward will be moved to their account!

[Seasons]: This server won't be heavily modded, meaning a transition from an old update to a new update will be easy. The server will have the map wiped by seasons, which means per UPDATE. If a player doesn't have insured property, their things (except whats in their inventory or enderchest) will be wiped clean. Meaning deleted. Players who have paid for insurance will request a copy be made of their card by an admin. These copies will explain the EXACT location of the property. I will then PERSONALLY use a world edit in singleplayer to copy and paste the properties into the NEW Minecraft map. In the same coordinates as the last map. This way players who choose not to start over will still have everything in their homes saved... INCLUDING their homes! This will only occur once every update.

[Cities and Towns]: Players can develop cities and towns, which will cost Credits to expand (land expansions). These Cities and Towns can be added to an OFFICIAL road which will begin in the hub area. Should a Town leader decide to make their Town official, they can spend accrued Credits on having their Town added to the servers many road systems. All Towns which would like to be public will have a road connecting them to the hub world. Cities and Towns may be built upon and expanded upon in their purchased territory. The biggest upside to Cities and Towns is the amount of players which work together. The only downside to Cities and Towns is that players must help each other, meaning that the insurance will be slightly more expensive as said players should also be gaining more net income.

[Competitions and Events]: There will be server wide competitions and events held. Competitions can range from players with the most kills, or the most credits, to the nicest looking homes, or even towns! Winners of competitions will have a hefty reward of Credits and needed gear/blocks. Events on the other hand are fun, and for the communities. These can range from hand made dungeons or hand made adventure maps which all players can complete. Events will be at random, while also having seasonal events held too!

[Server Maintenance]: This server will be completely, 100% community driven. Players may choose to donate monthly through Patreon. Donors will only gain one advantage. Names! Donors can have titles added to their names for a bit of flash and spunk. However players will also not gain ANY advantage in game. You cannot donate for Credit gain, or anything of the sort! Extra funding will be set towards keeping the server up another month, and if a well of extra funding is made. It will be spent on creating custom plugins to increase the quality of the server.
