Hey planet minecraft. I have a brand new map I'm working on that is like nothing before. The Last Of Us is a hit game for the PS3 involving Joel and Ellie. In this world zombies and survivors struggle to survive. I'm recreating each scene and story element in minecraft 1.8.1! I currently have finished the intro in which sarah dies. Any ideas and comment would be much appreciated. thanks! Jmo104

Hey guys. the spores gas made the game lag like a bunch so they just give you effects. No worry, if we ever remake it with mods it will have all the stuff like that.

2013 had Arkham Origins and the DMC reboot and GTA V because honestly the game got old in two days and had no story, so even if TLOU was bad it was still going to win GOTY.
About OPs map, it sounds good! But doing the whole story would take forever and there have been way too many overly ambitious projects that have been scrapped because someone tasked themselves with too much to do. But best of luck to you, I'd like to see the map when it's finished!

Hey everybody, I'm trying to make spores. If you have a idea on how to make the gas/effect let me know. The hardest part is when you put on the gas mask. I could just add a BUNCH of effects but I am open to really cool elaborate minecraft commands. Let me know in the comments!

I voted for the locations. Because combat, stealth and especially the story most of the times don't turn out too well in Minecraft maps. But you might surprise us all!

combat in minecraft is horrible, literally spamming the mouse as fast as you can. I would encourage the maker of the map to stay away from the normal Minecraft map idea of fighting hordes of zombies because that's not what tlou is about.
story.. yeah, that sucks in most maps, lol

Yeah i totally agree with you on that one.
I've also seen a way for the mobs to only detect you if the player walks on a certain block. So let's say, when the player walks on a wooden floor, it makes too much noise and attracts the Infected.
Now that would be something cool!
Now thats a good idea! Anyone know the command for that. keep in mind none of the creators are good with setblock coordinates.

I think you could, but only if you decide to skip certain parts.
Because TLOU is a huge game, and it's gonna take a long long time for two people to completely re-create this into Minecraft.

Thanks. But i was wondering. Could I still stick to the story line loosely? Because thats what I wanted to do first. Any ideas? But your right. More space and less generic buildings.

If i were you, i wouldn't make the story exactly the same like the original. Because this is simply not possible with current Minecraft mechanics and is most likely to flop.
Make some nice open areas for the player to explore. Throw a bunch of Infected in there. And just the right ammount of items, and you'll be good to go.

stealth is possible. you can let the player hide using invisibility potions if you want to make it simple, or you could make a system for making the mobs detect the player. it really depends on how good you are at command blocks. I had an idea back when I was thinking about making a map based on a game called "routine" where hostile mobs would only detect the player if the player was in front of the mob and not hidden from the mob's line of sight from any blocks (rather than just in the proximity of the mob).

Yes, i good create a custom mob that has a aggregation range of like 3 blocks. But that would be the clicker. The other ones I would need to work on. Thanks for the advice guys.

Yes lets plays are encouraged. Please spread the word. This is a two man project and I expect around 2 to 3 months of constant work. Keep building hype about this because this details everything from the dialogue to the locations. ALL TAKEN FROM THE REAL GAME! Nothing isnt the same. Missions and characters all are painstakingly recreated from the game. Wish me luck!
