I agree little to no lag is important, also for me i like a server which has cool stuff to find when exploring and an active helpful community.I have found all this on the server i am currently playing DTI's World ( IP 184.164.151.82:58513). It is basically a vanilla server but with a few extras such as mcmmo. There are secret villages hidden around the map with special villagers which give unique trades and you get 10 homes so you can keep going back there.They have a big town with a shopping mall with admin and player shops. Police and fire stations , hospital, school even an airport.If you are a mature player looking for somewhere fun to play come check it out I don't think you'll be disappointed.

yes, that is vital for almost every server, the only type that can get away with it being less reliable is an easy no pvp survival server, but even then it would be a major annoyance
