What do you think about Factions?

I am getting a new 1,000 slot server, and I am not sure what to make it. I want to make it a pvp server, grab armor, and go to a designated area. There would be mob arenas and parkour. But then I was thinking, why not make a hunger games server? That would be pretty cool. I realized that there are tons of Hunger Games servers. When I went to the servers tab and looked at the popular ones, I saw that factions are really popular! Can someone explain how factions work? I mean, can you grief and raid them? I need to know what kind of server it should be. Thanks!!

Allow a way to grief others easy, no protections etc its not what it should be!

1. Why make it a 1000 slot server right off the bat, start lower, then go higher. I hate people who just start off with like lets say 32 GB RAM, 700 slots, 200 plugins, etc. For real, start low, then once you notice your servers getting big and sh*t, then upgrade.
2. Factions is a good plugin,
Pros - Faction wars, - Makes PvP Fun, Raiding Is Fun.
Cons - Gets hackers, a lot of them. Gets glitchers (Glitch into bases to raid). Gets ignorant people (Mostly donators). Gets a lot of staff abuse (Admin#1 makes a faction for Admin#2 to join, they both are using Protection IV Unbreaking III armor with Sharp V Swords etc, then make a bedrock base that is COMPLETELY unraidable.
Conclusion:
So, Factions is a good plugin to get if you want all that sh*t. But.. it makes the server fun, gets a lot of people SOMETIMES. Not all the times, since there are thousands of "24/7 1.5.1 *NEW* Factions Server RAIDING-GRIEFING JOIN NOW!!!" servers. So its your choice. I dont have a choice for this.

If you ask me, I would NEVER make a server of mine a faction server.
Reason 1. It promotes griefing, which I HATE.
Reason 2. It promotes hardcore pvp.
Reason 3. I've noticed that EVERY faction server seems to draw in to many hackers, and always have that one faction that makes enemy's with everyone.
Its just my opinion, but hey, if you want to make it, make it!

There are so many Faction servers nowadays, you need to stand out. Be original.
Have something that no other servers have, that players will like!

factions are fun, and add an aspect of team work and (sot of) kingdoms. put them on. (plus hunting maybe)

maybe find a plug-in that makes sheep run away in certain areas, and them hold hunting turnaments
