Why can't Minecraft be snapped or resized anymore?

Any idea why for quite a while Minecraft has been no longer able to snap or resize to the left/right of the screen? It's inconvenient when you're trying to half and half to follow tutorials/guide photos. Don't get why they removed that feature.

Microsoft does not seem to like Java, so maybe there is a system bias against a Java ap participating in a shared window environment. I don't use the snap feature anyway, so as such find little problem using MC alongside a browser window, both independent of each other. But is perhaps more awkward than the way you are used to.
