Wither Skeleton Spawners
Just wondering every1's take on skeleton spawners in the wither.
Lets say a server offers skeleton eggs for purchase in /mall, along with cow, mooshroom, sheep, creeper, and zombie eggs so spawners can be changed for farming material. These eggs can be purchased with igm for the sole purpose to change collected spawners for "farming" material.
Is it taking advantage of a glitch, breaking any untold rules, or unnatural to use a skeleton egg and change an existing blaze spawner in the nether into a skeleton spawner with the egg to make a wither skeleton farm? Or is it using what the servers offers to farm material comparable animal spawners?

I run EggCatcher and MonsterBox on my server and you can do exactly what you are describing. In no way do I consider it cheating. In fact, if you have the skill and desire to farm larger than average quantities of wither skulls and thereby nether stars, I encourage you to do so. Overall, the game balancing implications of such modifications have minimal effect on PVP, particularly if no additional economy plugins are present which would allow you to exchange items into currency. If economy plugins are present a value adjustment to wither skulls or nether stars might be taken into consideration.
It is very polite of you to have considered the ethics of the situation in the first place, so you seem like a fair and valuable member of that community. That said, it is of course at the discretion of individual owners/servers and perhaps even defined by the technical limitations of their plugins. (ie, some mob egg plugins have no way of regulating that behavior)

The server already sounds pretty terrible and OP but ask the staff.

Are you asking us if what you want to do is going to break some server's rules or asking us if this in general is "cheating"?
If you're trying to gauge whether or not a certain server would allow what you're doing, you should just ask that server's staff as they will have a definite answer for you, rather than you going by what people say here and potentially getting in trouble if they end up being wrong.
If you're asking if this is somehow frowned upon by the community, I couldn't care less what people do on servers they own or their own single-player worlds. It's your world, so do what you want with it.

Yes, I am asking if the community feels it is "cheating" or somehow breaking general ethics rules in Minecraft. (But also take into consideration that eggs are allowed to change spawners)

Well in general I think its cheating and breaking the rules but since its not a realistic game then I would say that its fine, just dont do it too often.
