Any tips for building with ice?
I'm currently working on my submission for the Winter event happening (even though it's summer here in Australia), and I was wondering how to build with ice the best?
All my attempts fail, as it just melts under the sun, ruining the fun. Any way I could combat this?
Thanks! :)

you can always set the time to night, and use night vision, or set /gamerule randomtickspeed from the default of 3 to 0

Alright, I'll keep that in mind.

Don't just use ice. Use a variety of blue glass, there are many options! I also suggest adding buildings into winter scenes, not large, but small cabins always add to a winter scene. Good luck! :-)

I'll give that a go, and thanks!

Use blue, cyan, dark blue glass block or glass pane for upmost details!

Sure will, thank you for the tips!

Don't Build in the nether, you will make 0 progress

Fair point lol

Apart from Ice there's also Packed ice, ofc. I suggest using ice as an accent block rather than a main block. Use something that fits with the light blue as a main block.

My goal was to use ice as the main detail due to the concept I had, but I'll try thinking of different blocks. Thanks :)

Step 1: Don't build with ice in a desert
Step 2: Do what PsychoticDaze_ told you
Step 2: Do what PsychoticDaze_ told you

Use packed ice or blue ice. Regular ice will melt, which is probably not something you want...

Any differences apart from appearance to normal ice there?

Nothing major. But when you run and jump on blue ice, you go at hyperspeed.

Would tickspeed affect snow melting away? Otherwise, I think that might be the best method here.
