Hi,

I recently bought Minecraft PC edition for my son. I have tried to start it as per the instructions but it just comes up with an error message.
" Pixel Format Not Accelerated
This error message is commonly caused by outdated video card drivers. To fix this, you generally need to update your video card drivers, please follow the directions for your Operating System below. If you are having trouble following the directions below, please see this."

I have tried to update my graphics drivers but I don't think it worked.

I have followed the instructions in the help guidance and the DirectX Diagnostic tool details are here: http://paste.ubuntu.com/14832487/

I hope this is enough for you to help and let me know what I have done wrong and what I need to do to get this going for my son.

Guys... OP needs to update his video drivers. Updating Java won't do anything to help because Minecraft uses its own isolated Java runtime that's independent from the runtime the rest of the computer uses.

You've said you tried to update your video drivers, but try this download: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downlo ... ta-64-exe-

If this doesn't work, your next best option is to slot in a modern GPU. I suggest a GTX 750 Ti - they're very low-power, deliver great performance, and don't break the bank.

Why would you send it to him by email...just tell him to download minecraft from the website on his computer and then login to the account that you bought it on.......

I'm guessing you're using Windows 10? That seems to be a common issue. Can't really help since when I updated to windows 10 Minecraft continued working for me.

Thanks for your reply

I did all that. Bought from official site

If I uninstall it all and then go back to the email link (I bought it but sent it to my son by email) can I try again?

Would you recommend that?
Does the link I sent have my computer's system requirements on it? Could this be the problem? It is not a new computer but neither is it particularly old!

What have you downloaded it off of? I prefer the official Minecraft.net site for it.. COST: 20 usd and then when you download it save it to your desktop! Then launch it, press play and it should work.. you have to log in first though using the account you created and bought minecraft on from minecraft.net ! Then if the error persists tell me on here or my Skype: InfusionBuilding
Or Twitter: InfusionBuildin - https://twitter.com/InfusionBuild
