My first DDoS attack. Yay.

So, yeah. I think my server is getting DDoSed. Everyone that played on it was getting extreme lag, so I shut down the server- I really have no idea what is happening and would like an explanation? ;-;

Well I don't think it's DDoS after all but for some reason the server has been very laggy... I haven't installed any new plugins or anything lately.

Are you sure it's a DDoS attack? Just because your server is lagging doesn't mean it's undergoing an attack.
How are you hosting your server? Home hosted/game server provider/VPS/dedi/etc.?
If you are actually getting DDoS'd, you should nullroute traffic for a while.

try getting ddos protection and you should get a vpn for yourself also so they cant find your location or they can attack you yourself. And if thats not the problem its probally the server host its self lagging.
