Friends are only able to join one at a time on my server, otherwise they get timed out

My friends and I are using a custom modpack, and we've figured out that the server I set up for it only lets one of them on at a time (I am able to join no matter the circumstances for some reason; I'm on the same network as the server, so that may be why), otherwise it will say "Timed Out" or give them the "io.netty.handler.timeout.readtimeoutexception" message.

Is there any way to fix this so that we can all join without trouble?

Try generating a new world (as @Dominizo stated, corrupted chunk) or just adding more memory to all of your computers, and if your using online/dedicated hosting try adding more memory/disk space to it?

What are the specs on the hosting computer? For a larger modpack I would recommend atleast 8gb of RAM to be comfortable. Are you playing on the same pc as you are hosting?

I am on a separate computer from the hosting one.

The hosting computer is a Mid 2010 Mac Pro tower (big silver box one) It is 32 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 RAM sticks, which are all being used (I'm not running anything else on this so I don't really worry about the RAM), and a 2x2.4 GHz Quad-Core Xeon Processor.

You need more RAM on the server or they are hitting a corrupted chunk, try having one of them joining and then another one, if it randomly kicks them its the ram, if it only kicks when 1 person logs in then its the corrupted chunk.

The chunk shouldn't be corrupted; I just generated the world a few days ago. I also have all the RAM dedicated to the server, since I'm not running anything else that uses up much memory.
