How to increase the player render distance?

All I want to do is increase the distance it takes before you render in other players. To me it seems relatively low by default

go to server.properties and change it from 10 up to maybe 20 or 30

Thats chunk render distance. Not player render distance

you can change the default spawn render distance in the server configs

Simple, go to your options then select video settings. You'll find the setting "render distance" in there.

True. That's done by editing server.properties. But do note your OP: player render distance.

Which is also the issue: even if you do edit server.properties then there's no guarantee that this will apply to your players. Because if they didn't adjust their own settings then no matter what you configure: their local settings will take priority.
