How do I get a map/mod to work? I want to use a map/mod to make some YouTube videos I have some mods from a launcher but I don't know how to get them with out a launcher so please help me

I'm not one to know exactly how mods work (I've only used one), but there is a pretty good video I found by OMGcraft, a Minecraft tips & tutorials YouTube channel that can solve many problems relating to Minecraft (not necessarily command blocks).

I don't remember exactly, but for mods you just install forge, which isn't too hard, and then create a mods file in .minecraft. Then you place any mods you want to use in that folder, and they should show up in game.
