Minecraft wont stop lagging! help!!!
I recently got a new laptop and i can run games rather well, all of my games except minecraft! i have changed the amount of ram allocated, i have used optifine and they weren't very good.
P.S When i allocated more RAM it didn't use it all, i tried the magic launcher, batch files and allocating more RAM to java.
my laptop specs are:
Proccesor: AMD E1-1200 APU with Radeon™ HD Graphics 1.40GHz
Installed RAM: 6.00GB (5.48 usable)
System type: 64x- Operating System, 64x Based Proccesor
On a final note I have windows 8 and would very much appreciate any help given, also shouldn't i be getting 200-300 FPS Instead of 40? (thats what im getting now.)

Use a smaller resolution texture pack. If you lag bad I'd suggest getting optifine and a 32x32 TP.

im amazed that you can run mc with 40fps...
the cpu is a 1,4gz dualcore... and also running the graphics on that

Smack your computer with a chicken.

An evil chicken.

I think your processor is the problem. Could be wrong though. 1.4 GHz is terrible.

im not good at fixing this but maybe take down the quality of the texture pack you're using, thats what i did along with optifine and I get 50 fps easily, a huge jump from 5fps

Update your AMD graphics card drivers that happened to me when i got my laptop the drivers were really out dated You can update your AMD graphics card drivers at http://www.amd.com With my new drivers installed i run minecraft with shaders on fancy and far with 70fps
Hope it helps

if you cant run it.... then you have a severe problem with one of the following...
- Java 64bit? Are you SURE you have it set as prority?
- Have you "extended" java dump memory?
- Have you updated your graphics card drivers?
- Have you checked your GPU processor is set to OPEN GL and NOT DIRECT X
Any ways you could tell us noobs how to find that Java dump memory? or where is that GPU thingy? We're not all computer geeks, or call you what you want.

For your information.... to EVERYONE....
I run minecraft at 60 FPS on my NETBOOK!

Well turn your render distance down, graphics fast, particals mimimum, bobbing off, and max fps on performance.

Thanks, Dunem and premiumGaming, i already have these settings and java 64 bit i will change the ram and see how things go from there

on my old laptop minecraft lagged to, here are the best thing you can do:
Best: graphics fast
than: smooth lighting OFF
than: render discance short/normal (tiny is unplayable)
and than: let the world load for a bit

dont add him on skype, it takes less than 1 scentence to explain.
YOU NEED to remove JAVA 32bit and add JAVA 64 bit.
Delete your .minecraft folder inside of your %appdata%
Dont ever add more than 1gb of memory to java, it should look like this...
-Xms1G -Xmx1G
any more that 1 gig of memory allocationed to mc will actually make the client work much harder, therefore use only 1gb for best results.
If its any conselation.... i have 32gb of ram.
