Multiplayer problems Minecraft windows 10

Every time I try to join my friends game it says locating world and the says generating for a second and then freezes and shuts down Minecraft. I'm friends with him on Xbox live so I'm not sure what the problem would be.

If I were you, I would try to re-download minecraft, or at least relog.
