NEI Freezing Game /Solved/

This is a fairly recent issue, so I have a feeling it has something to do with my settings but, after about 15 minutes of playing, my game starts to choke up ... This usually happens about 5-6 times, over the course of about five minutes, before it completely freezes and I have to force close.
I decided to watch the console while this was happening, and the only output during those freezes is '[inventorytweaks]: net.minecraft.client.gui.GuiIngameMenu'. This is happening both while just going around building and also while completely AFK - Even without using NEI (Or opening my inventory) at all.
Has anyone come across this kind of an issue, before?

Changed a few Optifine settings, seems to have fixed it.

not perosnally had the problem but i have had players complain to me about it before,
Inventory tweaks likes to go weird and often detects NEI as a menu and tries to sort it/update it as it does with all other inventories,
