I've run my old world through the optimizer and it seems to go alright until it tries to load the world then it crashes. This is a world I've been working on for years and multiple computers. I just recently decided to start playing again after a break.
Can anyone help me get my old world back up and running in todays modern minecraft
Thank you ahead of time.

There is a possibility you dont have enough ram to run the whole world, you said you used years on this. Alot of stuff piles up and eats ram aswell. Just make sure you have enough.
You may also have 32 bit java on a 64 bit computer, if thats not the case you may also lack this.
for 32 bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=29
for 64 bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=15336
Download 1 for your computer, do not download both
I also see you sought after help on another website, about 13 days ago. (Just a neat little discovery)
Hopefully this will help you.
