I can't help but wonder, how do mods like Furnicraft exist, but there is no server-side only craftable vertical slabs?

Just made a server with a friend and to keep our server from mod bloats, we decided to limit it to only mods that are needed to be installed on the server-side, but we also really want vertical slabs that don't use some hacky implementation :(((((((
