How to Deobfuscate JAR if you have the Obfuscation Maps?
So, as many of us know, Mojang recently released Minecraft's obfuscation maps for snapshot 19w36a. I want to start making mods, and might find the source code and the maps helpful. Problem is, the code is still obfuscated and I don't know how to deobfuscate it to get the code. Anyone think they can help me here?

Mojang's obfuscation maps aren't complete and don't include variable names, which will still make things very difficult for you to read. Follow this tutorial to install Forge's MDK for the version of Minecraft that you want to use. You can take a look at Minecraft's source code inside of Eclipse, which will be far more complete than if you just used Mojang's maps.

OK, then what was the point of them releasing the maps?

They will likely be improved + they speed up the updating process of for example forge because they can take a look at minecraft's official obfuscation maps instead of having to wait for MCP (mod coder pack) to spend months doing this before forge can update properly.
