(PSA) Pro-tip => Sporadically clean out your config folder!
Hi gang!
Playing with mods is so sheer satisfying and if you're using a launcher like Prism then it's also super-easy to keep those mods up-to-date: just a few clicks with your mouse and you're done.
But there is a possible issue... you see: mods can be configured by editing their config files. You can find these in the "config" folder in your main game folder as well as the "serverconfig" folder which you'll find in your world save. So sometimes mods will provide us with new features after an update, but they won't automagically upgrade your config file as well. Meaning that sometimes you won't get to enjoy any some new(er) features because your config file doesn't allow it.
The best way to remedy this? Clearing our your config folder: if you remove a config file then the mod will regenerate that file with all its default settings as soon as you start your game again.
Carefull! => This also means that if you made any changes to a mods settings then you'll lose those changes as well. So always be sure to make backups, and prepare to do some manual editing afterwards if you have to.
For example: I play with specific settings for my minimap, Jade's info section and I also always turn off the custom menu screen for Ice & Fire. Those are settings I'd rather keep around ;)
But yeah, figured I'd share.
