Not sure when Vanilla + is getting updated, but it will at some point. I'll let you guys know when something is abandoned for good, and Vanilla + is definitely getting new updates in the future, and possibly the better end cus I think it's cool and is also popular. I need the clout haha. But at the moment, I'm working on my first mod in a while, for Java 1.21.4. The whole point of it is to just add a bunch of content into Minecraft that I think would fit. New biomes, items, foods, armors, tools, and I'm adding a dimension to remaster my Psyradian mod from 2021. Just thought I'd put it out there, and if you have suggestions (that I can implement) I'd love to hear them.
