My Forge won't load mods in my mods folder

So I'm new to modding and I downloaded Forge 1.12.2 so I could play with my friends who had a server which required two 1.12.2 mods. MovingWorld and Da Vinci's Vessels. So I got the Forge itself running but the only mods that show up are the 5 essential ones but not the mods I put in my mods folder.

Where exactly did you place them in the mods folder? And did you create this folder yourself? If so, was it something like .minecraft\mods?
