I Need Help - 1.6.2 Forge and Optifine Help

So I installed forge using the new forge installer and then I got the latest version of Optifine and put it in the mods folder (since the new Forge doesn't use coremods as a folder anymore), ran minecraft, optfine did not load. Then I deleted optifine from the mods folder, and I manually installed optifine into the jar. Ran Minecraft, no optifine.
I read many posts on the Minecraft Forum and none of them helped.
Can somebody please tell me how to install optifine and forge to 1.6.2?

I need Forge installed because I am also running NEI and CCC. I know the mods are compatible with Optifine because I checked with the mod developers.

I don't know much about forge but try installing optifine without it and then put it in. I haven't installed any mods in 1.6 and I couldn't find a force update button so that might not be the best idea. Anyway good luck

Well forge is manual from the forge installer it installs by its self unless you get the jar to get it yourself and I cant really help with optifine but, I have experience with forge

If you want to install mods quickly and easily just use MCPatcher

It is nothing with the installation of the mod, it is something with Forge I do believe, because I installed it correctly and Forge just didn't initialize it.

Hmm try youtube type into the search bar of youtube " how to install optifine 1.6.2" hopefully this helps I have NEVER tried a mod because I love minecraft the way it is but hope this helps
