Hey so with the new minecraft update, I'm searching for mods to use and I've come to a difficult situation. Should I get TMI or NEI and why?
The mod with the most votes will be the one I'll use.

TMI oh and please make this a REAL poll

I would suggest Too Many Items.
It's easier to install and you don't need modloader or forge for it.
You can also make custom enchantments up to level 10 and fireworks, along with potions.

NEI is Plagerism, so use TMI.

you know what? call me stupid, but get both! copy your minecraft.jar, and then you can switch between them by renaming them. its the best solution, because TMI has stuff like favs and firework guis, while NEI has recipes and a way to search chest. NEI also has enchant mode and stuff. Just copy youre jar and rename one MinecraftNEI.jar
and rename the other MinecraftTMI.jar and when you want to use one, simply rename it minecraft.jar and it will be the one you use. ooooorrrr, you could just try them both out...

Easy and awesome mode: TMI
Cool and difficult: NEI

Depends, I prefer NEI but I've never tried installing it, I've only used it in the tekkit mod pack. It comes with several nifty features like recipe mode, a healing thing, a gamemode change (I think TMI has that too) and magnet mode. TMI is incredibly easy to install though.

NEI!!!!!

Well, NEI, has a recipe blueprint thing that you can do, so if your running NEI with a complex mod, then yes. But if you just want to mess with things, then TMI.

Use NEI It's not so easy :/ but TMI is alot better

I find TMI easier when playing vanilla, but with modded Minecraft I use NEI as it provides a much better way to do things (like crafting and searching) but I haven't used either in Minecraft (besides tekkit and ftb) since 1.0.0

NEI

Tmi is super east to me

I used to use NEI but it was just...well...not very easy to use, tmi is simpler and easier to use so i prefer it

tmi you have no recipe mode nei you have recipe mode so if you are playing with mod with a lot of new recipes i would use nei. so NEI

NEI .
I picked it because it is a mix of 2 mods:
Marglyph's TooManyItems, Risugami's RecipeBook.
You can also know 2 types of Recipe:
Shapeless and Shaped.
So, i pick NEI.

TMI. Recently, it's gotten up to NEI standards, with some new features that NEI doesn't have. It's also much simpler to install.

NEI has recipe mode, it's great you have another mod say like DivineRPG and you can figure out the recipes for it.
I would say NEI.
