you can but theres two ways one is free the other is 3 dollars free way is a jailbroken ipod which is what i have and am currently using and have a server with

MCPE patcher makes that true but it's hard to find a server and it glitches sometimes and u need your device to be jailbroken

I think for the chat, there is a button for that (and separate for commands) next to the pause button. The keyboard appears and a black bar at the top comes up. The chat goes in the bar.

It would be a really nice way to play with others and would probably increase the profit to Mojang!

If Global Multiplayer was released, I don't think servers would be involved. I think that they would make Minecraft PE compatible with Game Center (iOS) and you can only play multiplayer with people on your Game Center Friends List that also had the game. Doing it that way would be much more easier and it would make a lot more sense.

There really needs to be online multiplayer, as I am getting bored playing with my buddies. Also, there should be skins, as well as infinite maps and more items.

I wish we can too. There would be problems though, think about it. It would be difficult to acomplish, since first, they would have to be able to make 24/7 servers no globally. Secondly, if you were to host on an iPhone, the IP would be? There would probably be some major lag and the screen would be pretty squeezed. It could happen but we probably have to wait for a couple months, possibly in April.

There already is a way for you to connect to a global MCPE server. You have to do some stuff in settings but it is possible, I looked into it before my iPod died.

why not? I think it would open a lot of doors for those of us who can't get on or make our own pc servers...And I think the mobile platform is a great second step towards bringing multiplayer more like the 360 version to the pc anyways (which I doubt they will ever do but a guy can dream right?) xD
